Nothing moves or feels like silk !!
Once you have danced with a silk veil you will never want to dance with anything else. Silk floats much better than any other fabric and it takes very little to twirl it gracefully (making you look sensational !!)
Below is a current list of instock silk veils. Hand-dyed 100% silk, these veils measure a generous 3 yards x 45 inches (approx. 2.7m x 116cm). They vary from featherweight to 6mm to 8mm in weight.
What is the difference between the weights? Featherweight and 6mm veils have more "airtime" when flowing but they are harder to control when the veil is part of a choreography. So for dances with fast veil actions, you're better off with the heavier 8mm silk veils. Momme (mm) is a Japanese unit of weight used in silk production. One momme (pronounced Moe-Mee) is .13228 of one ounce. There are 120.96 momme to a pound of silk. In essence, the heavier the fabric, the higher the momme number.
Silk veils are hand-washable unless otherwise stated.
How to care for your new silk veil:
Clean your veil with cold water and mild detergents only. Be sure to rinse well and do not use harsh soaps or wash in hot water. Do not use bleach on your veil. Hang to dry, but avoid exposure to direct sunlight. You may iron your veil on the lowest setting on your iron but spray lightly with water first. If your veil gets too wrinkled put them in the dryer on the lowest setting for about 10 minutes. Do not use any dryer sheets etc as they can leave a residue on your veil and ruin it.
